Our aim is to work cooperatively with the people of Bangbutt, encouraging them to:

* make their own decisions about what they need;
* contribute practically on projects, as needed;
* have a sense of ownership of the projects.

Each project:

* involves both men and women;
* is planned to be sustainable;
* has its own management committee of villagers;
* has training built in from the start.

We have been advised that empowering the women, through our projects, will benefit the next generation.

Youlgrave is a small village in the Peak District, Derbyshire, which has been working for over 15 years with a village in Sierra Leone, West Africa. Our aim is to work with the villagers to provide them with the basic needs of life which we take for granted.

We are a small registered charity, run entirely by volunteers.
