Welcome to the Youlgrave Bangbutt Village Link

Welcome

Youlgrave is a small village in the Peak District, Derbyshire, which has been working for over 15 years with a village in Sierra Leone, West Africa. Our aim is to work with the villagers to provide them with the basic needs of life which we take for granted.

We are a small registered charity, run entirely by volunteers.

Please have a look around our website to find out about our fund-raising, and what has been achieved so far in Bangbutt. We are always grateful for more help though, so why not find out what you can do by visiting the "Want to Help?" page. Sometimes it's hard work but it's always fun! Thank you.

Our fundraising events in 2010 started with a Coffee Morning in the Reading Room (opposite the church) on 20th February.

Then, in April, we had our very popular Bangbutt Breakfast and walk. This took place on 18th April in the Reading Room from 9.30am until 2.00pm.

In July we will be running our Cafe in the Village Hall over the weekend of 24th and 25th. We will be open from 11am until 5pm serving drinks with delicious home made cakes, filled rolls, ploughman's lunches and cream teas.

Our Autumn Bangbutt Breakfast and walk takes place on 19th September.

On 9th October the Wesleyan Reform Church will be holding a Coffee Morning for us when they will sell their harvest produce.

On November 20th the duo Breeze and Wilson are coming to perform in the Village Hall. They describe themselves as "country - blues, with roots in folk....and a smattering of americana, tex-mex and jazz!" More details to follow later.

More information about these events can be found by looking at previous events on our events page.
