Welcome to the Youlgrave Bangbutt Village Link

Welcome

Youlgrave is a small village in the Peak District, Derbyshire, which has been working for over 20 years with a village in Sierra Leone, West Africa. Our aim is to work with the villagers to provide them with the basic needs of life which we take for granted.

We are a small registered charity, run entirely by volunteers.

Please have a look around our website to find out about our fund-raising, and what has been achieved so far in Bangbutt and the surronding villages. We are always grateful for more help though, so why not find out what you can do by visiting the "Want to Help?" page. Sometimes it's hard work but it's always fun! Thank you.

Our fundraising events in 2011 started in April when we had our very popular Bangbutt Breakfast and walk. This took place on 17th April in the Village Hall from 9.30am until 2.00pm.

In July we held our first Youlgrave Village Table Top Sale Trail which proved hugely successful and will be repeated again this year.

On 11th September we ran our All Day Cafe in the Village Hall, serving drinks with delicious home made cakes, filled rolls, ploughman's lunches and cream teas.

In the Autumn the Wesleyan Reform Church held a Coffee Morning for us when they sold their harvest produce.

Finally on two evenings in December (one extremely wet and windy!) an intrepid and enthusiastic band of carol singers spent an evening serenading the villagers of Youlgrave.

More information about these events can be found by looking at previous events on our events page.
